The Collider edition told about the process of filming one of the first scenes that viewers will see in the series The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, accompanying the text with frames from the set.
At the beginning of the show, Galadriel, after being shipwrecked, has to survive in the waters of Belegaer, also known as the Great Sea, Alatair, and the Broken Seas of Arda. We are talking about the ocean to the west of Middle-earth. For the sake of these scenes, Amazon prepared two huge water tanks: one in the pavilion and the other outdoors.
It took four weeks to prepare, including swimming lessons, including scuba diving, for the actors (Morefield Clarke was a little afraid of the water), and another three directly to the shooting. Smaller waves were created using excavators, while more serious ones, like other effects, were drawn by specialists from Industrial Light & Magic.
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on September 2nd.
